But there are too many subsequent waves and to make matters worse Duncan is very keen on attacking them which always turns out badly for him and also on getting in your way when you try to shield him from taking damage.

I did it on the third reload, just have to use your inner demon a lot, and try to keep the fighting near the wall spikes, so that you can kick them in there.. There is no extra dialoge for it though.
