User Info: Nafzger. What's "Fool's Gold"? Fool's Gold is a quest in Hightown right after the Deep Roads expidettion.
A dwarf's mad at you cause his three sons went into the deep roads after you, looking for treasure. The thing were questioning here though, is that if the quest appears does it mean that nathaniel died in Dragon Age Origins: awakening. Many of us ported over a save file from DAO: Awakening were Nathaniel was alive at the end, and I would certainly like to follow up with his quest in DA2 if possible. But if the "fool's gold" is on the screen when you are playing through, does it mean that nathaniel is dead?
User Info: karmasxocean. I've always gotten Nathaniel and I always do all the side quests I haven't seen the Fool's Gold quest before, though. So, I think you're going to get screwed again Sorry, friend. User Info: GundamFanT. My first game gave me Fool's Gold and no Howe. No Fool' Gold quest ever came up but Nathaniel sure did. User Info: climber I also got the Nathaniel quest and have never seen the Fool's Gold quest.
Awakening was always very glitchy and I'm not surprised importing it is either. In Nathaniel's quest he said the Wardens let the architect live. I remember very distinctly killing him. I don't know if its a glitch or that is just not a decision that is imported.

Nathaniel didn't kill anyone at Vigil's Keep. He simply gave one of the Wardens a black eye. I'd suggest recruiting him. He isn't his father and wasn't even in Ferelden when Howe betrayed the Couslands, so he had nothing to do with either Rendon Howe or Loghain. The only question here is: Do you believe a son should suffer for his father's crimes?
The idiotic comes to kill me becasue his traitorous paw got what was coming to him. I think I recruited him in one game only ever. Whomever wrote him did an awful awful job of giving nay reasonable player a single reason to include him in the group, much like Zevran before him. Whenever an npc "die" offscreen you can reasonably expect Bioware to bring them back with some handwave not the case of this npc however.
I only played Awakenings once albeit recently , but I recruited him. This was even as a Cousland. Trial by Joining I guess. I recruit him, he's actually not to bad once he settles in and his approval goes up. I liked him anyway. As a Warden, you frequently recruit from the bottom of the barrel. Remember Duncan's less than noble background In Nathaniel's case, I would say if you're anyone other than a Cousland, you recruit him. If you're a Cousland, it depends on how vengeful you want to be.
One can argue that killing Rendon is enough. He is the man who made the decision to massacre the Couslands. One can also have a Cousland who carries a grudge
