Which daytime soap is being cancelled

Fans of the daytime soap opera—which has been on the air since —have just learned that the entire cast has been released from their contracts. Amid negotiations between NBC and Sony Pictures Television, the news broke that the entire cast has been released from their contracts.

Re-upping those contracts is a lot more complicated than just filling out a new employee timesheet. The actors are now all free to find work elsewhere, rather than waiting in limbo until NBC decides whether to cancel the show. An insider told Yahoo that the studio, the network, and Corday Productions who actually cuts the deals with the actors are hoping to cut costs and force the cast to accept a lower salary. Worst case scenario, they lose half their cast.

Best case scenario [for Corday], everyone agrees to return at a lower salary. But mom Jo was destined to be widowed yet again when dang it, her second husband succumbed to a heart attack. But on the plus side, he did it over and over. And stop gawking at Morgan Fairchild, fella; any character she plays is gonna be trouble!

Not pictured: Liza. Maybe they were headed to the circus? Eventually, Jo grew so tired of his shenanigans that she dropped divorce papers on him.

Then — sigh — NBC dropped the show altogether, leading to the December 26, , broadcast of its 9,th and final episode. Powered by.

Posted on: HollywoodLife. I hope they can save soaps or create some new ones and hook in new generations of viewers to this genre because it could be awesome and we all need some escapism like that soaps can offer. Voldemort just tweeted this out.

I hope not. I'm finally enjoying the show. Deleted User. DrewHamilton wrote: I hope not. Just par down their budget. Although, it could lead to some big firings if AMC is forced to do that. Overall it's a snoozfest. Ryan Seacrest had Josh Duhamel on today, and Ryan told him the show was canned. I think he had his info wrong though. Josh seemed bummed. I agree AMC has sucked monkeybutt for years. I used to be a big fan back in the eighties, in the glory days of Jenny and Greg etc.

But for the last ten years it's been a snoozefest. The time has come for ABC to put it out of it's misery. This is from the print edition of TV Guide magazine that I got in the mail today. Michael Logan is the author of the article. Queen of soaps Susan Lucci could be forced to give up her throne. The daytime-TV world has been rocked by a report on deadline.

There's been no such denial regarding the year old AMC. This much we do know: AMC exec producer Julie Carruthers held a meeting on the set to tell her stars she'd been told nothing by the powers that be about a possible cancellation. We read about it on the internet. Here is a way we can all try to help! AND go here for more ways!!!!! Back to top.
